Leo loved everyone unstintingly. First, he and his sister Clover were inseparable. They played so hard and chased with abandon on the beach. Leo was ever-hopeful he would catch a seagull, or maybe a squirrel. His sister taught him to be the wingman and bark his deep bass bark to ward off hidden foes. But in reality, Leo was the mayor of the neighborhood. He could have been offended when children ran up behind us and grabbed him but he gave his affection and patience without reservation. His vet even has a few hundred selfies of the two of them snuggling. His soft eyes drew everyone in, and he was always a lover whom we loved through many ups and downs, as he loved us, in his long life. And he has left a big, soft, fawn colored hole in our hearts but we are ever grateful for his long life with us.
